CES is like drinking from a firehose. There simply isn’t enough time to catch everything, let alone communicate. However, the Sony Z Series laptops really caught the eye.
The Sony Vaio Z Series Signature Collection just looks cool. This comes in a limited edition brushed metal or carbon fiber chassis. But the Z series is not just a pretty face. It packs some serious firepower into that sexy frame. And while you can’t get the signature collection cases yet, you can get the Z series. It’s a svelty 13 inch screen, 3.3 lbs dream machine. It boasts an integrated blu-ray player, Centrino 2 process, up to 8 GB ram, and an Nvidia GeForce 9300M GS chipset. And running off of standard settings, you can get a nice 7.5 hours out of it. If you grab the large capacity battery, you can get 11 hours. Running the blu-ray player with the standard battery will only get you 3.5 hours of use. Still, pretty nice. They also have solid state drives for the Vaio Z series, but they seem to be unavailable presently. The display is 1600 x 900 Resolution with LED backlight.
